Leukemia Diagnosis; April 29, 1987

Alex seems to be sleeping better now. It’s just me who has trouble I still keep on waking up for no reason.

The nurse came for blood before eight o’clock. Alex still cries every time they come. Alex had breakfast a little later and then we went to the playroom. He sure loves the playroom.

Charlie usually comes in around ten o’clock.

When lunch comes which is about noon, we go to the playroom. Before lunch Alex had a shot. They have to wait about 45 minutes to make sure he doesn’t have a reaction.

Mom and Dad come around one o’clock. Charlie and I went to Mom and Dad’s, Charlie usually goes to work at 2:30 p.m.

I went back to the hospital before four o’clock. I find it really boring sitting around Mom and Dad’s. It’s hard to just sit there after being so busy at the hospital.

I was hoping I would see Dr R but he never turned up.

Mom and Dad left around five o’clock.

I talked to Shirley and she said Brent had a cold. I told her if she came up she would have to wear a mask.

We got ready for bed around nine o’clock.
